What is a short-term rental co-host agreement?
Many hosts share the work of a short-term rental with a co-host — a friend, neighbour or local business who handles guests, cleaning and check-ins for a share of the income. Platforms let you add co-hosts, but they don't set out what each of you agreed.
This template lists the co-host's services, who sets prices, the fee and how it's paid, cleaning costs, a spending limit for repairs and supplies, the host's legal responsibilities (permissions, registration, taxes, safety, insurance), keys and access, damage and guest problems, a cap on the co-host's liability, guest data and no off-platform bookings, and ending the arrangement with bookings already made.

Short-term rental co-host agreement: frequently asked questions
Who is responsible to guests and the platform?
The host stays the host of record and responsible to guests, platforms and the authorities, unless the platform's co-host terms say otherwise. The co-host is an independent contractor.
Is the co-host liable for guest damage?
No — guests are. The co-host is responsible only for loss from its own negligence or failure to follow the agreement, capped at 12 months' fees except for fraud or wilful misconduct.
What happens to bookings when we stop?
Bookings made before the end date are handled under the agreement unless you agree otherwise, and the co-host's fee for them is still payable.
Is an e-signed co-host agreement valid?
Electronic signatures are generally accepted for ordinary agreements like a co-host agreement in the US (ESIGN Act and UETA), the UK, the EU (eIDAS) and Canada, though local rules can add requirements. VergeHR keeps an audit trail and a Certificate of Completion with the signed PDF.
