What is a pest control service agreement?
A pest control service agreement sets out the terms of a one-off treatment or an ongoing pest management plan between a pest control company and a home or business. Clear terms matter here because results depend on both sides: the technician has to use the right products safely, and the client has to prepare the property, follow the safety instructions and deal with conditions that attract pests.
This template names the covered pests and areas, sets out the treatment plan and the visit schedule — monthly, every two or three months, twice a year, yearly or a single treatment — and gives an optional period in which pests that come back are re-treated free. It covers preparation before each visit, the safety information both sides share (children, pets, allergies, fish tanks, food areas), products approved for use and applied per the label, service reports, fees, a minimum term with notice to cancel, and a clear statement that pest damage and wood-destroying pests aren't covered unless named.

Using the pest control service agreement, step by step
1 Name the pests and areas
Enter the address, the type of property and the pests covered, such as ants, cockroaches, spiders and rodents. Say which areas are included — for example the house and garage but not the garden shed.
2 Write the treatment plan
Describe the initial service and what happens at regular visits: inspections, interior and exterior treatments, bait stations. Choose the visit schedule and the first visit date.
3 Set re-treatment and preparation
Choose a free re-treatment period (30 days is common) or leave it empty if call-backs are charged. Add the preparation the client must do, or say that a preparation sheet will be sent before the visit.
4 Add fees and term, then send
Enter an optional initial service fee, the regular fee and whether it's per visit, month or year, when payment is due, any minimum term and the notice to cancel. Add your licence number if you have one, then send it to the client to sign.
Tips Before You Send It
- Many places require pest control operators or applicators to be licensed — include your licence number where you have one.
- Leave a service report after every visit listing what was used and where; the agreement promises one and it's your best record.
- Ask about children, pregnancy, pets, allergies and fish tanks before the first treatment and note your product choices.
- If termites or other wood-destroying pests are part of the job, name them in the covered pests and treatment plan — otherwise they're excluded.

Pest control service agreement: frequently asked questions
What if pests come back between visits?
If you set a re-treatment period, the provider returns and re-treats free when covered pests come back within that many days of a visit, provided the client followed the preparation and recommendations. Otherwise extra treatments are charged at the provider's call-out rate.
Does the agreement guarantee the pests will be eliminated?
No. Pest control reduces pests but can't promise that none will ever be seen, especially when they come from neighbouring properties or conditions that attract them remain. The agreement says so plainly.
What safety information is covered?
The provider uses products approved for the use, applied by trained staff per the label and gives product names and safety information on request. The client tells the provider about vulnerable people, pets, fish tanks, food areas and wells, and follows re-entry and cleaning instructions after each treatment.
Is an electronically signed pest control contract valid?
Electronic signatures are generally valid for ordinary service contracts in the US (ESIGN Act and UETA), the UK, the EU (eIDAS) and Canada. VergeHR keeps an audit trail and a Certificate of Completion with the signed PDF.
Is this template free?
Yes. The template is free to use with the eSignature app in VergeHR, and your client doesn't need a VergeHR login to sign.
